One of the things about the survey is we found a gap. Ninety percent of the respondents said that data sovereignty was a concern, while sixty-four percent had no overarching strategy to deal with data sovereignty. That's a big gap. Really what we're seeing is a huge changing landscape as it relates to data sovereignty.
The old world of data sovereignty where data lived is no longer true. Imagine running multiple compliance initiatives within your organization all related to data sovereignty, but without having that visibility. If organizations do have a view of their data, then they can react to the changing world of regulation.
What we're seeing is data is central to sovereignty. It may sound obvious, but organizations need to understand the sensitivity of that data. Ninety-two percent said that data sovereignty was absolutely critical to their AI strategy. Only nineteen percent said that data sovereignty had board-level support, but eighty-eight percent said leadership could be at risk of losing their jobs if they had a
data sovereignty failure. We make reference to sovereign by design. This is a holistic view on how organizations address their data sovereignty challenges, where they understand the set of absolutely critical business services to keep operating under extreme disruption.
Many organizations don't understand a piecemeal approach to dealing with data sovereignty can be expensive, slow. Whilst a sovereignty by design approach accelerates initiatives and delivers a better outcome.
